Gueuzerie Tilquin began operations in February 2009. It had been 12 years since a new gueuze producer had opened in Brabant (the previous one was Geuzestekerij De Cam in Gooik, which started in 1997).

Gueuzerie Tilquin is the first gueuze brewery in Wallonia. The company is located in Bierghes (Rebecq), 200 meters from the language border, and is managed by Pierre Tilquin. Pierre is a bioengineer with a doctorate in statistics and genetics. He then completed an intensive course in brewing science in Leuven and gained experience at the Huyghe brewery (Melle), 3 Fonteinen (Beersel), and Cantillon (Anderlecht).
